Civil Guard officers have completed a search of the Málaga flat belonging to the man detained as the alleged perpetrator of the double murder in Las Lagunas de Mijas, according to EFE.
The arrest took place on Thursday at around 13:00 hours. The detained man is the boyfriend of one of the two dead women, whose remains were found on Wednesday at a property in Las Lagunas de Mijas after a fire broke out. Both victims presented stab wounds.
Various Civil Guard units travelled to the property of the alleged killer, located in Málaga city, where the search was carried out over several hours on Thursday afternoon. The operation sought evidence linked to the crime, which falls within the context of gender-based violence.
The man remains in Civil Guard custody pending his transfer to judicial authorities. The investigation remains open.
