Fugitive wanted by Germany following machine-gun attack detained in Valencia

The National Police have arrested in Valencia a fugitive sought by German authorities for his alleged involvement in an attempted murder that occurred in September 2025 in Delmenhorst, according to elperiodicodeaqui.com. The operation was carried out in collaboration with EUROPOL, the SIRENE Office and Delmenhorst Police.

A European Arrest Warrant (EAW) was issued against the arrested individual for these offences, for which he could face a life sentence in Germany.

Four suspects, roles divided

The investigation indicates that the detainee acted alongside three other individuals in the planning and execution of the attack. Each assumed a specific role: the now arrested man would have been responsible for monitoring the victim's movements and carrying out the subsequent attack.

The events occurred when the victim left a hospitality establishment alone. At that moment, the alleged attackers initiated the assault and one of them opened fire with a machine gun on several occasions. The victim was left seriously wounded, although the rapid response of emergency services prevented his death. The gunshots did, however, leave him with significant injuries.

Coordinated flight and communication breakdown

Following the attack, the alleged perpetrators fled in different directions and took active measures to hinder their location, even isolating themselves and cutting off all communication between them.

German authorities continued their investigations until determining that two of the fugitives could be hiding in Spain. From that point on, the National Police and Delmenhorst Police launched a joint investigation coordinated by EUROPOL.

Location in Valencia and residential searches

Following various meetings and operational procedures, investigators identified the possible whereabouts of one of the fugitives in Valencia. A police operation allowed them to locate and proceed with his arrest.

Two raids and searches were then carried out at the residences where he was allegedly hiding. During the operations, three loaded firearms were seized, all in working condition, along with electronic devices and cash.

The detainee remains at the disposal of the competent judicial authorities as part of the proceedings stemming from the European Arrest Warrant issued by Germany.
