Arrest in Valencia of fugitive wanted by Germany for machine gun shooting

Spanish National Police arrested a man in Valencia who was wanted by German authorities under a European Arrest Warrant (EAW), according to Google News ES — Crime (es). The arrested man is suspected of having participated in an attempted murder committed in September 2025 in the German town of Delmenhorst.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with Europol, the Sirene Office and Delmenhorst Police. According to initial investigations, the detainee is believed to have acted alongside three other individuals, each with an assigned role to ensure the success of the attack.

The alleged fugitive was responsible for tracking the victim and their subsequent elimination. The incident occurred when the victim left a hospitality establishment alone; at that moment, one of the attackers fired numerous shots with a machine gun. The victim was seriously wounded, although survived thanks to the rapid intervention of emergency services, though they suffered significant long-term effects.

Following the attack, the alleged perpetrators fled to different destinations and took measures to avoid being located, going so far as to isolate themselves and maintain no contact with each other. German authorities determined that two of the suspects could be hiding in Spanish territory, which led to a joint investigation coordinated by Europol.

After several meetings and operational procedures, investigators located one of the fugitives in the city of Valencia. A security operation was then established which culminated in his location and arrest. Subsequently, two searches were carried out at the residences where he had been hiding, where three loaded short firearms prepared for firing were seized, along with electronic devices and cash.
