A 33-year-old man died early in the morning after receiving two gunshots to the abdomen in a public street in Marbella (Málaga), according to elpais.com. The body was found on Calle Pintor Pacheco, a street located near the La Bajadilla marina, to the east of the city.
The 112 Andalucía Emergency Service received several calls at 2.15 in the morning. Various people alerted authorities that a fight was taking place on that same street and that gunshots were being heard. Shortly afterwards, other calls requested medical assistance for an injured man in the same location.
Several patrols of the National Police and medical personnel travelled to the scene, but were only able to certify the victim's death, according to police sources. Officers then activated the judicial protocol for removal of the body, which was transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine for autopsy.
The investigation of the case has been assigned to the Specialised and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police Station in Marbella. According to a statement from the Provincial Police Station in Málaga, the team is working "for the complete clarification of the facts". No hypothesis about the crime is being ruled out.
