Man arrested in Santander for alleged murder of his partner
National Police arrested a 39-year-old man on Friday in Santander as the alleged perpetrator of the homicide of his partner, a 27-year-old woman, according to cantabriadirecta.es. The events are believed to have taken place at midday in a flat situated on a central street in the Cantabrian capital.
The CIMACC-091 Operations Room of the National Police received a call at 12.30 p.m. in which the presence of officers was requested at a residence in Santander. Upon arriving at the property, officers found a woman with bleeding wounds, apparently caused by a bladed weapon. Emergency services, alerted urgently, were only able to certify her death.
At the scene, officers proceeded to arrest the man, the victim's partner, who confessed to committing the acts.
National Police have activated the protocol established for this type of gender-based violence cases, and specialised officers are currently working to clarify the circumstances of the homicide. The Government Delegation in Cantabria has conveyed the available information to the Ministry of Equality of the Government of Spain.
