In the early hours of the morning, two hooded individuals attempted to gain access to the residence of Spanish national team forward Lamine Yamal, located in Esplugues de Llobregat, a municipality in the Barcelona metropolitan area. The incident occurred just hours after Spain's 2-0 victory over France in the World Cup semi-final.

According to Catalan newspaper La Vanguardia, the intruders scaled the fence of the property, but were caught by surprise by private security personnel, which forced them to flee the location without managing to take any items.

A spokesman for the Catalan police confirmed to the AFP news agency that an attempted break-in had occurred at a single-family residence in Esplugues de Llobregat, although he did not reveal the owner's identity for privacy reasons. The same source indicated that another case of "robbery with violence" is being investigated at a second residence near the footballer's home.

The property where Yamal resides was previously known to have belonged to former footballer Gerard Piqué and Colombian singer Shakira, when the pair were in a relationship and living in Barcelona.

Burglaries at the homes of footballers, particularly in Madrid, are not an isolated phenomenon. In recent years, figures such as Karim Benzema, Rodrygo and Dani Carvajal have suffered similar incidents.
