Masseur arrested in Madrid for recording over 130 female clients naked without consent
Officers from the National Police have arrested a man in Madrid who worked as a masseur and recorded his female clients on video without their knowledge. The detainee is believed to have filmed more than a hundred women while naked during treatment sessions.
The investigation began following a complaint filed by one of the victims, who discovered that graphic material of her had been captured inside the facility where she went to receive massages. Investigators determined that the healthcare professional had installed concealed recording devices in the clinic.
After analysing the equipment seized, officers identified images of more than 130 different women. All of them had been recorded at the moment they undressed to undergo physiotherapy sessions, completely unaware that they were being filmed.
The detainee, of Spanish nationality, was brought before judicial authorities. He is charged with alleged offences against privacy and personal image, as defined in the Penal Code. The gravity of the case lies in the high number of people affected and the systematic violation of their privacy in a context of professional trust.
This type of infraction has experienced a significant increase with the miniaturisation of electronic devices. Authorities recommend exercising extreme caution in private treatment spaces and reporting any suspicious behaviour.
