Noé, member of the Cortiñas clan, remanded in custody over Lugo shooting
The magistrate investigating the case of the shooting that shook Lugo last March has ordered the imprisonment of Noé, the suspected gunman and member of the Cortiñas clan. The ruling was made after hearing his account of events in court.
The incident occurred when the victim, linked to the rival Pelúos faction, was shot and wounded in broad daylight on a public street. The incident caused considerable shock in the city, which had already experienced previous episodes of violence between the two families.
According to La Voz de Galicia, the arrested man belongs to one of two gangs engaged in an open confrontation in the Lugo capital. Last March, the shooting carried out by Noé wounded a member of the opposing group, triggering a broad police and judicial response.
The court ruling marks a new chapter in the history of clan violence plaguing Lugo, where authorities are maintaining active prevention and monitoring operations to prevent further escalation.
