Officers of the National Police have seized 80 kilograms of cocaine, two firearms and 117 cartridges of 9mm calibre in Valencia, according to Google News ES — Crime (es). The operation brings to an end Operation Diana, which was launched in April of last year against an organisation dedicated to large-scale drug trafficking across several Spanish provinces.
The operation accumulated over the course of its various phases 51 arrests carried out in different cities across the country. Agents from the Drug Trafficking and Organised Crime Unit (UDYCO) of the Superior Police Headquarters of the Valencian Community coordinated the work in collaboration with other police units.
During the 39 searches and raids carried out during the investigation, agents seized 242 kilograms of cocaine concealed in vehicles with secret compartments—known as "caleteados"—, approximately 57 kilograms of hashish, more than 12 kilos of cannabis and 979 grams of heroin. The operation also resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of MDMA tablets, more than 554,000 euros in cash, twelve gold bars, six firearms, various prohibited and imitation weapons, 9mm ammunition and 36 vehicles.
The most recent seizure of 80 kilograms of cocaine, the two weapons and the 117 cartridges corresponds to the closure of one of the final lines of investigation that remained open, bringing the police operation to a conclusion.
