Officers arrested three men in the early hours of Saturday. Among them was Rafael R. G., identified as the leader of an organisation engaged in cocaine trafficking in the Galician region of O Barbanza, with activity especially concentrated in the areas of Boiro and A Pobra.
According to the investigation, Rafael R. G. was responsible for coordinating both the receipt and custody of the drug. The three detainees face charges of belonging to a criminal organisation and drug trafficking. At least two of them will appear before the Ribeira court on Monday.
The investigation began the previous Thursday, after officers received information about two vessels that had allegedly introduced a cargo of cocaine through a beach in A Pobra do Caramiñal.
