Operation against trafficking of minors in Extremadura
According to noticiasdenavarra.com, the National Police and Civil Guard have arrested six people in an operation for the alleged sale of minors. Among those arrested is a mother who, according to sources from the National Police, has been engaged in selling her own children.
Agents carried out searches at three addresses: one in Linares (Jaén) and two in Badajoz province, in Montijo and in the capital. The Police clarified that this is not a matter of minors who were kidnapped and commercialised, but rather a different form of trafficking that continues to be investigated.
María Teresa Macías, Government delegate in Extremadura, confirmed on Wednesday that the investigation remains open. The work involves the Family and Women's Assistance Unit (UFAM) of the National Police and the Criminal Investigation Police of the Civil Guard. Macías requested understanding due to the sensitive nature of the matter and explained that she must respect judicial proceedings. The National Police have announced that they will provide further details in a statement.
