Seven arrested in Jerez for heroin trafficking, weapons and more than 30,000 euros seized
National Police dismantled a criminal group dedicated to drug trafficking in Jerez. Weapons, high-end vehicles and more than 30,000 euros in cash were seized.
Police operation in Jerez: seven arrested for drug trafficking and membership of criminal group
The National Police arrested seven people in Jerez de la Frontera as part of an operation against drug trafficking and organised crime, according to cadenaser.com. Those arrested are being investigated as alleged perpetrators of offences against public health and membership of a criminal group.
The operation was carried out by agents from UDYCO-Bahía, belonging to the Provincial Police Station of Cádiz. The searches, authorised by the judicial authority, were conducted simultaneously and in a coordinated manner.
During the searches, officers seized 350 grammes of heroin, 30,000 euros in cash, a prohibited firearm with 36 rounds, five bladed weapons, two high-end vehicles, a vacuum-sealing machine, seven precision scales and various tools for the manipulation and packaging of substances.
In the course of the investigation, officers also intercepted 12,590 grammes of marijuana buds hidden in a shipment of loudspeakers bound for a country in Central Europe, thereby preventing its distribution on the illicit market.
The alleged leader of the group was already in preventive detention as of 7 July, when he was arrested by the National Police as the alleged perpetrator of attempted murder, extortion, threats and unlawful possession of weapons.
