Drug sales point dismantled in Castelló de Rugat

The Guardia Civil has arrested three people—two men and a woman, aged between 33 and 61 and of Spanish nationality—for trafficking drugs from their own home in Castelló de Rugat (La Vall d'Albaida), according to cadenaser.com.

The operation was launched following information received about the possible existence of a drug sales point in the town. Patrols from the Guardia Civil Post carried out several discreet surveillance operations that allowed them to identify the occupants of the property and confirm that the exchanges were taking place directly from one of the windows: buyers approached from the street and completed the transaction without needing to enter the building.

After intercepting several buyers who had just acquired substances at that point, officers verified that the activity continued regardless of who was inside. With this evidence, on 20 August a search warrant for the property was executed.

Inside, officers found approximately 1.241 kilogrammes of cocaine, 100 grammes of marijuana, 6 grammes of hashish, 9,160 euros and 300 pounds sterling in banknotes, in addition to numerous tools intended for the preparation and individual packaging of doses.

The three detainees are implicated for an offence against public health, specifically for drug trafficking. The case file has been delivered to the Civil and Instructional Section of the Ontinyent Court, number 01.

The investigation was carried out by officers from the Roca Team in Gandia and the Castelló de Rugat Post, with the collaboration of the USECIC in València and a police dog handler from Alicante.
