The Guardia Civil has arrested three young Spanish nationals in Magaluf, two adults and one minor, accused of committing at least two offences including sexual assault, fraud with bank cards and theft from hotel rooms.

The Guardia Civil has arrested three young Spanish nationals in Magaluf—two men aged 18 and one minor—as suspected perpetrators of several offences committed against tourists in the nightlife area. Among the crimes under investigation are sexual assault, fraud by means of bank cards, and the theft of personal effects and a vehicle.
According to the investigation, the group allegedly followed the same modus operandi on at least two occasions. The arrested individuals would approach groups of women in Magaluf's nightlife area, establish a relationship with them, and manage to be invited to hotel rooms. Once inside, they would steal bank cards and other personal effects from the victims.
One of the cards was subsequently used to make unauthorised purchases in Palma. In addition, one of the women reported having suffered sexual assault, a fact that prompted the intervention of the Guardia Civil's specialised Zulú Bravo unit, which handles the investigation of sexual offences.
Police inquiries made it possible to link the trio to the theft of a moped, which was found abandoned. Thanks to witness statements and photographs provided by one of the affected women, officers were able to connect the various incidents and identify the suspects.
The three were arrested on Monday morning at the tourist accommodation where they were staying. During a search of the premises, officers recovered the stolen items and the moped, which has already been returned to its owner in Bendinat.
At present, those under investigation are undergoing legal proceedings on suspicion of sexual assault, fraud, theft and other offences against property. The Guardia Civil does not rule out that the group could have been involved in other criminal incidents during their stay in Magaluf and maintains an ongoing investigation.
