Santa Pola Local Police arrested an individual following a night-time pursuit across several roads in the area. The second suspect, who was driving a grey Mercedes GLC, managed to escape. Three officers were injured.

On Friday night, a police operation in Santa Pola ended with one arrest, one individual wanted for apprehension, and three injured officers. It all began when several residents of the Alicante municipality reported to the control room the presence of individuals loitering in the vicinity of private residences.
The mobilised units located the two suspected offenders, who chose to flee. One of them was intercepted after a short chase; the authorities suspect that both are part of a criminal group specialised in gaining access to others' homes by force. The other occupant, who was driving a grey Mercedes-Benz GLC, managed to evade the operation.
The vehicle was pursued from 23:20 to 23:45, travelling along thoroughfares in Santa Pola—including Lérida and Tarragona streets—, avenues in Gran Alacant—Noruega and Mediterránea—, and the N-332 and CV-865. On this latter stretch, already within Elche's municipality, the patrol decided to stop the pursuit so as not to compromise the safety of other drivers.
Through their official profiles, the judicial traffic section of the force has made an appeal to the public: they are asking anyone who has recordings or any details about the vehicle or its driver to contact the police station. Testimonies are especially sought from those who had to swerve on the CV-865, near Valverde, to avoid a collision.
The captured suspect has already been handed over to the competent authority. The Guardia Civil is actively participating in the investigation, which continues with the aim of locating the second person involved.
