A man was arrested by the National Police for two burglaries committed in the Cantabrian capital with barely ten days between them.

Officers from the National Police Corps arrested a man on two separate occasions just ten days apart, accusing him in both cases of breaking and entering in the Cantabrian capital, according to reports by Cadena SER.
The first arrest took place near midnight on 13 June, when a resident called the 091 emergency dispatch centre to report suspicious activity in a building under construction in the La Pereda neighbourhood. The caller said he had heard banging and noises coming from inside, and had spotted someone lurking within the premises.
Various units proceeded to the location. Some officers gathered statements while their colleagues searched the area. They eventually discovered the intruder hiding in a corner of the building, equipped with work gloves and scissors. They also found tools used to force locks—a pair of cutting shears and a hammer—along with two security cameras that had been removed, valued at over 500 euros.
The second intervention took place in the morning of 24 June. A citizen alerted the 091 that an unknown man had smashed the window of a shop in Valdenoja and, realising there were witnesses, had fled the scene.
A patrol car conducting rounds in the area was diverted to the location immediately. The officers recorded the informant's account and the physical description of the suspect, details which they broadcast over the radio to other units to coordinate a search operation.
Thanks to that coordination, they soon located a man leaving the area whose appearance matched exactly the description provided. He also had cuts on a lower limb, presumably caused by breaking the shop window he had intended to burgle.
After verifying the evidence, the officers handcuffed him as the suspected perpetrator of an attempted break-in. He was first taken to Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital to have his wounds treated, and then to the regional police station.
In both incidents, once the investigation procedures were completed, the arrested man was handed over to the corresponding court, which ordered his release.
