Suspected killing in Pihtipudas – victim and suspect knew each other
Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in Pihtipudas, which took place in a private flat during the night of 20–21 September. The suspect has been taken into custody.

Police are investigating a homicide suspected to be a killing in Pihtipudas, iltalehti.fi reported. The alleged act is believed to have occurred in a private flat during the night between Sunday and Monday, 20–21 September, in a detached-house area.
Police spent several days last week near the home of a male suspect born in the 1990s and questioned local residents about any possible observations. One resident interviewed by iltalehti.fi said he had not seen the occupant of the house for over a week, and described him as a liked and pleasant person.
Police have taken the man suspected of the crime into custody. He has given police his own account of what happened. Both the victim and the suspect were men, and they knew each other beforehand.
Police are continuing the investigation into the case by examining the crime scene and hearing possible witnesses. Earlier on Sunday, 27 September, police reported on an operation carried out in Pihtipudas related to the protection of a private individual and linked to the same investigation. Police are appealing to a limited disclosure policy to secure the preliminary investigation.
