On 22 June, the first disciplinary measures were made public in the Lyhanna case, following a severe report highlighting failings within the judicial system. Two gendarmes tasked with the investigation in the Gers department are to be reassigned to other duties. Furthermore, the deputy prosecutor of the Auch public prosecutor's office is under scrutiny, pending the initiation of a disciplinary procedure against him.
These decisions targeting specific individuals prompted a reaction from Gabrielle Cathala, parliamentarian from the La France insoumise group, who sits on the Legal Affairs committee as well as the Women's Rights delegation at the Palais-Bourbon. The elected official denounces the strategy of the Minister of Justice, accused of designating isolated culprits in order to escape any questioning of his own management. She calls for the resignation of Gérald Darmanin, whom she holds responsible, alongside his predecessors, for what she describes as the progressive deterioration of the judicial institution.
