Châlons-en-Champagne: one dead and one seriously injured in knife brawl
Two men in their thirties were targeted in a knife attack in the centre of Châlons-en-Champagne. One of them did not survive despite the intervention of emergency services.

A violent altercation resulted in one death and one serious injury on Tuesday 23 June in the centre of Châlons-en-Champagne, in the Grand Est region. At around 5.45 p.m., on Place Foch, two men in their thirties were struck with a blade.
The first was fatally injured. Firefighters present at the scene attempted to resuscitate him, without success. The second, seriously wounded, was rushed to Reims University Hospital.
Ten firefighters from Châlons-en-Champagne, a medical team from Épernay and police officers were mobilised to attend to the victims and secure the area.
Investigators have yet to release details about the causes of the assault or the identity of any suspects. The investigation is continuing.
