Law enforcement has shut down the activities of a mafia organisation composed of Turkish nationals, active in weapons trafficking, drug smuggling and human trafficking across several European countries.

Judicial authorities have arrested ten individuals linked to a criminal structure that sought to establish itself on French territory. The operation took place in the Alpes-Maritimes department, where the group was targeting three wealthy coastal municipalities.
The apprehended individuals are all from Turkey. Among them, nine were remanded in custody following their police questioning. The last was released on bail, but remains subject to strict judicial supervision.
The investigation reveals that this organisation was involved in several illegal activities. In addition to drug trafficking and human exploitation, its members are accused of selling firearms to five nations: Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Belgium.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of a substantial sum valued at nearly one and a half million euros.
