Ten suspects arrested in southern Ardèche for drug trafficking in Aubenas
Around one hundred gendarmes carried out the arrest of ten people across several communes in southern Ardèche on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. This operation ended the activities of a team of dealers whose headquarters was located in the Oliviers neighbourhood in Aubenas.
The investigation had been launched approximately six weeks earlier, following the examination of mobile phones seized during a vehicle check in March. Investigators from the Largentière territorial brigade had then discovered a sales outlet installed in the Oliviers neighbourhood, as well as a home delivery system covering the southern part of the department.
According to magistrates' calculations, this organisation generated a monthly profit of more than €30,000. Of the ten people arrested, six were summoned before the prosecutor's office for offences relating to unlicensed dealing in psychoactive substances. The judge decided to remand three of them in custody pending trial. The other three remain free but must comply with judicial supervision obligations.
The searches resulted in the recovery of 360 grammes of white powder, 630 grammes of cannabis resin, approximately one hundred packets of contraband tobacco, leather accessories and branded shoes. The gendarmes also seized nearly €18,000 in banknotes.
The officers came from three departments: Ardèche, Drôme and Gard. They conducted operations in the areas of Aubenas, Saint-Sernin, Saint-Didier-sous-Aubenas, Labégude and Vesseaux. Prosecutor Céline Nainani commended an operation that strikes a serious blow against local traffickers in the Aubenas and Largentière area.
