A fifteen-year-old student in year nine at a private school in the Gard has been placed in provisional detention after admitting to killing a woman of eighty-four years of age. The incident occurred on 11 June 2026 in the municipality of Grau-du-Roi, the only seaside resort in this department.
The victim, a retired woman on a summer holiday, was taking a walk beside a canal when she was savagely attacked. The attacker, a classmate aged just fifteen years old, struck her with punches and kicks, then used a drill against her.
