The defendant is currently serving a 15-year sentence for manslaughter handed down in 2020 for a homicide committed in Sainte-Rose in July 2018. Despite his imprisonment in mainland France, investigators believe he maintained his illicit activities.
The man appeared on Monday before the Paris investigating chamber to request his release. His request was rejected. The magistrates determined that the accused still needed to be heard and confronted with his accusers in the context of this cocaine trafficking case.
