In February 2025, an 18-year-old student died from gunshot wounds in Ponte-Leccia, in central Upper Corsica. The death of Chloé Aldrovandi had a profound impact on the island. A year and a half later, the memory of this tragedy remains vivid, notably thanks to a mural painted on the walls of the University of Corsica.
From the very night of the tragedy, the justice system had put forward the hypothesis of a case of mistaken identity. The representative of the public prosecutor's office in Bastia indicated that it was "very likely that the person targeted was not the one hit by the bullets, in a context that closely resembles the methods of high-level organised crime". This line of enquiry led investigators to favour the scenario of a settling of scores aimed at another target.
The investigations were entrusted within the framework of proceedings for murder in association with criminals. Police and gendarmerie services have not ceased to work on this case. The local population has also not relaxed its vigilance, multiplying calls for the truth to come out, under the cry of "ghjustizia per a nostra Chloé".
