In France and several other European countries, police are conducting a wide-ranging operation targeting suspicions of misappropriation of European Union funds. The targets are members of the former parliamentary group Identity and Democracy (ID). The information was reported by the AFP news agency, citing the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO).

The investigation concerns facts that occurred between 2019 and 2024. According to French newspaper Le Monde, the raids are also taking place in Spain, Italy and Belgium. In July 2025, the EPPO announced the opening of an investigation against the ID group for the alleged misappropriation of 4.3 million euros.

During the previous parliamentary term, this group brought together far-right, nationalist and Eurosceptic parties. In addition to the French National Rally (RN) and the Alternative for Germany (AfD), the Czech party Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) was also part of it.
