A 36-year-old woman, subject to an international arrest warrant for an alleged murder in her country, was apprehended on Thursday in the centre of Puy-en-Velay.

Officers from Puy-en-Velay police station apprehended a 36-year-old Mongolian national on Thursday 25 June. She was subject to an international arrest warrant issued by the judicial authorities of her country of origin, who suspect her of a violent crime.
The operation took place in the centre of the Haute-Loire prefecture without the suspect attempting to resist her arrest. The officers then transferred her before Riom court of appeal, at the request of the prosecutor general.
She was remanded in custody at Riom detention centre pending extradition proceedings that will need to be conducted to return her to Mongolia.
