Rouen: 30 months suspended sentence for man who shared video of rape of an infant
The Rouen regional court sentenced a 37-year-old man on Thursday to two and a half years in prison with the sentence suspended, along with an obligation to undergo treatment. He was prosecuted for distributing child sexual abuse material, including a recording showing sexual acts against an 18-month-old child.
The individual was arrested in the week of 22 June during a vast operation coordinated by the Office for Minors. This action made it possible to identify 33 men spread across several French departments. The defendant's IP address was geolocalised to the jurisdiction of the Rouen public prosecutor's office.
On 12 August 2025, the suspect had transmitted a video in which "an 18-month-old girl was being raped and subjected to other particularly brutal acts", according to a statement from the prosecutor. Searches revealed more than 62,000 files of child sexual abuse material on his computer.
