A business on rue Gaston-Monmousseau in Roussillon has been permanently closed by court order. Vienne tribunal delivered its verdict on Wednesday 24 June, imposing an unprecedented sanction on the owner of the premises.
Cengiz Ordek, who managed this establishment, was found guilty of converting his bar into a drug-dealing point of sale. This is his second conviction for similar offences within the space of a few years. The magistrates this time decided to bring the venue's activity to a permanent end.
The investigation was conducted over several months by local investigators from Roussillon's police unit, in collaboration with Vienne's investigations squad. Their work made it possible to demonstrate that the business served as a front for illicit drug trafficking.
This case illustrates the judicial system's firmness in the face of establishments that serve as cover for drug trafficking in towns within the Vienne metropolitan area.
