Attempted phishing fraud targeting automotive professionals in Corrèze
The State services in Corrèze have alerted automotive sector professionals to an ongoing phishing campaign. Fraudulent emails are currently attempting to steal personal information and access to the Vehicle Registration System (SIV).
The malicious message bears the heading "Check your authorisation" and presents a fictitious reference. The sender's address used is "[email protected]", a domain name simulating a public administration. The email is signed by someone named Michael JACQUET, presented as head of a user relations division for SIV proximity missions, a non-existent position.
The fraudsters are seeking to obtain the identifiers, digital certificates and secret codes allowing access to the SIV. This system manages all vehicle registrations in France. Compromise of these access credentials could enable unlawful manipulation of vehicle registration documents.
The authorities recall several essential rules: no public service solicits information relating to authorisations, SIV approvals, digital certificates or passwords by email. Similarly, no administration requests the downloading of certificates in professional authorisation processes.
Professionals who have not yet responded to this message should ignore it. Those who have already communicated information are invited to contact France Titres and the Delegation for Road Safety (DSR) immediately to secure their access.
