Three women were sexually assaulted within the space of a few minutes in the town centre of Thionville, near the sub-prefecture. The perpetrator, a 43-year-old man, was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment.

The incidents occurred on Friday, 19 January 2024, at around 18:30. Under the influence of alcohol, the man emerged behind one of the victims. He clamped his hand over her mouth to prevent her from shouting, brutally threw her to the ground while ordering her to relax and calm down.

Two of the three victims were able to escape their attacker thanks to intervention by passers-by. The speed of the events and the violence of the attacks made an impression in this area of the town centre.

The man was eventually tried and remanded in custody for these sexual assaults. The court imposed a sentence of eight years' imprisonment on him.
