Drug trafficking: 22 people arrested over two days in Loire-Atlantique
Military personnel from the search brigade in Pornic arrested 22 suspects over two consecutive days in the Loire-Atlantique department, according to Ouest-France.
It all began in August 2025, when an impromptu traffic stop went wrong. A driver refused to comply and was eventually arrested. In his car, law enforcement officers discovered a firearm, narcotic products already packaged for commercial distribution, cash, and several mobile devices.
This discovery prompted the Saint-Nazaire prosecutor's office to open a judicial investigation, allowing investigators to deepen their enquiries. By tracing the supply chains, the Pornic gendarmes progressively dismantled a drugs network operating in the region.
In total, 22 suspects were placed in police custody during this large-scale operation.
