The authorities of the Corrèze department have taken an administrative closure measure against an establishment located in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. Prefect Vincent Berton signed an order prohibiting the opening of the drinks establishment "FutFut" for a period of sixty days. This decision follows an investigation conducted by gendarmerie officers that revealed the presence of activities linked to drug dealing within these premises.
Notification of this measure was made on Thursday 25 June. It is based on the provisions of the "Narcops" law, legislative text intended to curb drug trafficking networks across the national territory. According to the prefectural statement, this closure aims to protect the population and maintain public order in the department.
Other businesses have been subject to similar sanctions in recent times in the region. Two shops specialising in cannabidiol-based products, located in Tulle and Brive, were forced to close for a period of one month. Law enforcement had found several violations during their inspections. Furthermore, another retail outlet, the "Yabi Shop" in Brive, was closed due to undeclared work.
These closures are part of a context of increased crackdown on drug trafficking in Corrèze. In early June, Brive court had sentenced nine defendants belonging to a drug trafficking network to prison sentences ranging from eighteen months to nine years.
