Investigators recovered an authentic work by the Spanish painter whilst searching a house in Champigny-sur-Marne as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

A search carried out as part of a drugs trafficking case in the south-east suburbs of Paris has enabled law enforcement to recover a painting by Pablo Picasso, prosecutors announced on Saturday.
According to the Jamaica Observer, citing the AFP news agency, the Créteil prosecutor's office clarified that this discovery took place during a search carried out as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.
The magistrates also opened an inquiry into theft and receiving stolen goods, the prosecutor's office added in its statement.
On Friday, four people were brought before a court for immediate appearance in connection with this case, according to the same sources.
The newspaper Le Parisien, which first revealed the information, indicated that the search was carried out on Monday by investigators in Champigny-sur-Marne, a commune situated to the east of the capital.
In addition to the Picasso painting, officers seized cannabis resin, luxury clothing and several thousand euros in cash, the newspaper specified.
The Créteil prosecutor's office confirmed the authenticity of the work as being by the hand of the Spanish painter, without however revealing the exact identity of the painting in question.
