Arrest of ex-partner inside courthouse for attempted murder in Drossia

According to iefimerida.gr, the ex-wife of the 38-year-old man who had been shot outside his apartment building in Drossia last September was arrested today for moral complicity in attempted murder.

The woman appeared unperturbed at the courthouse, accompanied by her mother, where the trial for the case had begun. Already in the dock was the direct perpetrator, a 29-year-old former partner of hers. There, on the orders of the judges, police officers asked her to follow them.

"We had filed a complaint for moral complicity and the police searched for her, but did not find her. She appeared today thinking that the case file had been closed," the victim's lawyer, Kiki Pakirtzidou, stated to Mega. She described how the defendant initially claimed to be a witness, but the police officer made clear to her that she had to follow him.

The incident had taken place at 6:20 in the morning on 30 September, when the 29-year-old had set an ambush at the entrance of the apartment building. Facing the victim, he opened fire suddenly. "What are you doing?" the 38-year-old can be heard shouting in fear in security camera footage, while the perpetrator continues to shoot. The victim fell into bushes, which according to reporting information saved his life.

The 29-year-old was immediately identified by the victim and arrested five days later in Zakynthos. He initially denied any involvement, before eventually confessing. Although initially the case was treated as a crime of passion, the trial revealed today the dimension of moral complicity on the part of the victim's ex-wife.
