Theft of €40,000 in Spetses: Six arrests in Argolida following maritime escape
Three women broke into a house in Spetses and stole €40,000 and a Seiko watch. Six people were arrested in Lygoureio following a coordinated police operation.

Three women entered a residence in Spetses on the afternoon of Saturday, 5 September 2026, and took cash totalling €40,000 as well as a Seiko brand watch, according to Newsit.gr. The operation to locate and arrest them began immediately and was completed hours later in Lygoureio.
According to information cited by Newsit.gr from Korinthostv.gr, the three women left the island by water taxi, heading to Costa. From there they boarded a taxi and continued by road, heading towards Lygoureio, where a third vehicle with three men was waiting for them.
The police authorities were notified promptly of the route and mobilised forces from the Police Departments of Spetses, Hermioni and Epidaurus. According to the same information, the deputy commander of the Hermioni Police Department and the duty officer played a decisive role in coordinating the response, mobilising available patrol vehicles as soon as the escape route became known.
The crews located the vehicle in Lygoureio and arrested all six individuals involved. The arrested suspects — three women and three men — were transferred to Nafplio detention facilities and are expected to be brought before the competent prosecuting authority. The Spetses Police Department has taken up the preliminary investigation into the case.
