Arrests in Fyli for fraud using "power leak" pretext

Two members of a criminal organisation — aged 18 and 16 — were arrested in a settlement in Fyli, following a coordinated operation by the Greek police. According to In.gr, the group had been operating since December 2025, committing distinct thefts and frauds in Attica and the region with a total haul exceeding €250,000.

The dismantling operation was carried out by the Kamatero Prosecution and Crime Investigation Department, with the support of the West Attica Prosecution and Crime Investigation Sub-directorate, the Zefyrio Department and the Special Crimes Unit.

Three operational teams and a hired vehicle

The defendants were organised into three operational teams with a clear hierarchical structure. Using a hired vehicle, they impersonated employees of an electricity supply company and cited alleged power leaks or radiation, in order to extort money and valuables from their victims.

To avoid detection, the defendants made use of numerous "operational" telephone connections, which they rotated systematically. Many members of the organisation maintained family or friendly relationships with one another.
