A twenty-year-old from Zagreb refused to stop at police signals, crashed into an official vehicle, attempted to flee on foot, and then kicked a police officer. The court fined him 5,630 euros.

In the early morning hours of 20 June, around 3.35 am, a twenty-year-old was driving a BMW through Zagreb. Police officers gave him light and audio signals to stop at an appropriate location, but the young man continued on.
In the Lučko area, whilst police officers were pursuing him whilst exercising caution for the safety of other drivers, the suspect deliberately crashed into an official police vehicle in which two officers were travelling. Following the collision, he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road, but attempted to flee on foot. Police officers caught up with him and, using physical force and restraint, overpowered his resistance and arrested him.
During the process, the young man kicked one police officer in order to prevent him from carrying out his official duties. No one was injured in this incident.
In addition to the criminal offence of assault on an official person, he was also charged with numerous traffic regulation violations. The court issued a final judgment convicting him and imposing a monetary fine of 5,630 euros. Following completion of the criminal investigation, he was handed over to the competent detention supervisor, and the report was sent to the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Velika Gorica.
