A local police official in the capital has come under investigation for the disorder that broke out on 2 June during rehearsals for the parade marking the national holiday. Approximately thirty horses, employed in the ceremony, fled in panic due to the noise caused by several fireworks.
The investigation, conducted by prosecutors from the Roman court under the supervision of deputy prosecutor Giuseppe De Falco, has identified the municipal officer who triggered the fireworks. He faces charges of causing injury to persons and aggravated dangerous explosions. The event posed a risk to the safety of those present near the rehearsals for the anniversary of the Republic.
