Last Saturday, at Verona-Villafranca airport, the Border Police arrested a 62-year-old passenger who had just disembarked from a flight coming from Romania. The citizen of the Dominican Republic had an active arrest warrant dating from April.

The investigation had been conducted by detectives from the Mobile Squad of Trento. The man had been found guilty of committing sexual abuse against a child under 14 years of age over a period spanning from December 2016 to 2018. The final sentence imposed a prison sentence of over five years.

After completing identification and arrest procedures, the sixty-two-year-old was taken to Montorio prison, in the Verona area, where he will begin serving his sentence.
