The Guardia di Finanza has concluded its investigation into Postalcoop and Cargobroker, companies accused of a major fraud in logistics. €26.5 million has been seized.

Investigation concluded into logistics fraud
According to rainews.it, the Guardia di Finanza has notified the conclusion of preliminary investigations into a fraud estimated at approximately 100 million euros in the logistics sector. The investigation, coordinated by the Turin prosecutor's office and called "Epicentro", involved the Postalcoop and Cargobroker groups.
The number of those under investigation has fallen to 21 from the initial 38. According to the accusation, the two companies operated as "fronts" to circumvent tax rules and the national employment contract, offering very low rates to clients such as Amazon and Gls. Two thousand workers were moved at discretion between the group's companies. The prosecutor's office maintains that illicit gains were reinvested in new sectors through shell companies created to disappear together with the debts.
Among those under investigation is Daniele Goglio, considered the de facto administrator of Postalcoop, and Giuseppe Smeriglio, chairman of the board of Cargobroker. A precautionary seizure of €26.5 million has been ordered.
