Law enforcement conducted a wide-ranging crackdown across the national territory, arresting more than 1,300 people and confiscating approximately half a tonne of drugs and over one hundred firearms.

A broad campaign against drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons covered the entire Italian territory. The Central Operational Service coordinated the initiative, with the assistance of Mobile Squads from every province, the Crime Prevention Unit and offices from individual Police Headquarters.
The figures from the operation are striking: 1,335 individuals were arrested, whilst a further 2,358 were reported to the judicial authorities without arrest. Police officers confiscated almost half a tonne of psychoactive substances, divided among cocaine, heroin and cannabinoids.
The weapons sector recorded equally significant results. A total of 111 firearms were seized, including an assault rifle, various military weapons and a bulletproof vest. Particular attention was also devoted to bladed weapons, a phenomenon growing among younger age groups: 250 cutting and pointed weapons were recovered, including box cutters, brass knuckles, electroshock devices, expandable batons, slingshots, machetes, sabres and axes.
During the operation, officers subjected almost 300,000 people to checks, of which over 15,000 were minors. The checks focused on the peripheral neighbourhoods of cities and areas adjacent to nightlife venues, environments in which drug consumption is more pronounced.
