Precautionary order annulled

According to milanotoday.it, a 24-year-old arrested during urban disorder in central Milan on 17 October has been released by authorities. Judge Fabrizio Filice accepted the Public Prosecutor's request following further investigations coordinated by prosecutor Giovanna Cavalleri, which ruled out the young man's responsibility for the crimes charged.

The initial charge claimed that the 24-year-old would have aided a minor in evading police control. In the precautionary custody order issued on 20 October, the same judge had already ruled out the young man's responsibility for the crimes charged against him. During questioning, represented by lawyer Guido Guella, the 24-year-old stated: "I did nothing, I was the wrong person in the wrong place at the wrong time", also rejecting the charge of resistance.

The defence had filed an appeal against the order with the Appeals Court, with a hearing scheduled for 3 November. With precautionary measures no longer necessary, the hearing was annulled and the young man was released.
