A 54-year-old man, originally from Morocco, has been arrested for seriously wounding another person with a knife during an altercation linked to drug dealing.

A Moroccan citizen aged 54 has been remanded in custody by the State Police in the Barriera Milano neighbourhood of Turin. The man is suspected of seriously attacking another person with a cutting weapon during the night, in the final days of May.
The victim, found on the ground at the corner between Largo Giulio Cesare and via Volpiano, presented with a deep wound to the side. Treated promptly, they were transferred in critical condition to San Giovanni Bosco hospital, where doctors operated on them in intensive care.
The Barriera Milano Police Station conducted the investigation, analysing images captured by cameras in the area. The footage showed that the incident originated from a violent argument on corso Giulio Cesare, apparently connected to a drug transaction. The 54-year-old allegedly drew a knife and threatened the other man at the throat. Although a passer-by urged the victim to run away, the attacker allegedly pursued them as far as via Volpiano, striking them with a blade.
Officers managed to locate the suspect in an abandoned van which he was using as a dwelling. At the time of arrest he was wearing the same clothes as on the day of the assault, on which bloodstains were found.
The judicial authority validated the remand and ordered a custodial measure. The investigation file is still in its early stages; consequently, the presumption of innocence of the suspect remains in place pending any final judgement.
