Turin: fraud and theft from elderly people, two arrests
State Police officers in Turin have arrested two individuals responsible for a series of predatory crimes committed against elderly people. The investigation has made it possible to document several episodes of fraud and theft that occurred in the city.
The two criminals presented themselves at the homes of their victims posing as public utility workers or technical personnel. Taking advantage of the good faith and isolation of the elderly, they managed to enter homes and steal money, jewellery and valuable objects.
The Mobile Squad conducted an investigative operation that made it possible to identify those responsible and reconstruct their operating methods. Sufficient evidence was gathered to request and obtain a custodial remand measure.
The investigation is continuing to verify whether the two arrested individuals are involved in other similar episodes committed in the Turin area and in neighbouring provinces.
