A packet of white powder was found during a night search on Staniūnų Street in a stopped vehicle. The serviceman who was travelling as a passenger with the driver has been taken into custody. An investigation has been launched.

At night, around 3 a.m., officers stopped an Audi A4 for inspection on Staniūnų Street. Two people were travelling in it: the driver was a man born in 1996, and a younger serviceman born in 2003 was sitting in the passenger seat. The latter was not on duty at the time.
During a search, officers found a polythene bag containing white powder in the serviceman's possession. Specialists suspect it may be a prohibited psychotropic substance.
The suspect was detained and isolated in custody. Law enforcement has launched a pre-trial investigation into the possible possession of drugs.
