On the morning of 11 June in Šiauliai, police officers who responded to a call regarding domestic violence encountered an aggressive man armed with an axe. Two police officers were injured during the arrest.

On the morning of 11 June, Šiauliai district police received a report from a woman about domestic violence. The officers who arrived at the scene were met by an aggressive man holding an axe in his hand.
The officers used special measures – the man was tasered. Although the axe was taken from him, the detainee continued to actively resist and refused to comply with lawful police demands.
Two police officers were injured in the incident. After receiving medical assistance, they are being treated on an outpatient basis.
"Violence is directed not only against loved ones – officers responding to help also face aggression and danger. Every call can be unpredictable, which is why police work demands not only professionalism but also preparedness to act in dangerous situations," stated a statement from Šiauliai district police headquarters.
