Officers from the Vilnius District Police Headquarters detained a young man at whose residence they found numerous packets containing material suspected to be classified as narcotics.
Operatives conducted a search and discovered dozens of separately packaged packets. The contents will be sent for expert analysis to determine the exact composition of the substances.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated under the Criminal Code provision providing for liability for unlawful possession of narcotic substances. This offence carries a penalty of up to eight years' imprisonment.
