Former French Foreign Legionnaire Krūmiņš arrested in Riga, subject of international arrest warrant
The Organized Crime, Serious and Serial Crime Combat Division of the State Police detained David Krūmiņš, a former French Foreign Legionnaire, on Thursday in Latvia. An international arrest warrant had been issued against him on charges of organised kidnapping.

The Organized Crime, Serious and Serial Crime Combat Division of the State Police detained David Krūmiņš, a former French Foreign Legionnaire, on Thursday in Latvia. An international arrest warrant had been issued against him on charges of organised kidnapping, according to LSM.
The detention took place under the authority of the State Police. Krūmiņš previously served in the French Foreign Legion, but later became an internationally wanted person. The charges are related to organised kidnapping.
Police have informed the public of the detention. The further course of action regarding the detained person—extradition or legal proceedings in Latvia—has not yet been specified.
