Tuesday morning a man in his 40s was arrested on Kampen in Oslo. The operation took place after police received a report of an act of violence that had occurred the previous day.

According to Avisa Oslo, there was a large police presence on Brinken. Witnesses reported that up to seven police cars were present, and several officers were armed. A local resident described the situation as disturbing on a street that is usually peaceful.

Operations manager Eirik Sannes confirms that the arrest was linked to a case of bodily injury. The victim is a 19-year-old man who, according to police, did not sustain serious injuries.

Police were alerted to the matter at around nine o'clock Tuesday morning. Shortly afterwards, at around ten o'clock, the suspect was taken away by police.

Sannes declined to comment on the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim.

Earlier that day, police had confirmed they were conducting an investigation in the area, but clarified that there was no threat to the public. Residents in the neighbourhood observed police officers putting on protective equipment out in the street.
