On Thursday afternoon, Nordland police district received a tip from the public about a driver who was likely under the influence. The incident occurred in Finneidfjord. When a patrol stopped the person, the encounter escalated rapidly.
According to operations manager Veronica Helen Nylund, the driver behaved aggressively and violently towards the officers during the stop.
Following the incident, police have gathered evidence. The person has now been reported for two offences: assault on a public official on duty and driving under the influence of drugs.
